X marks the spot

If you ask me, Jean Paul Gaultier symbolizes French fashion just as much as Yves Saint Laurent, Christain Dior or Hubert de Givenchy. His collections ALWAYS give me the feel of smoking cigarettes in Paris. This season, we were smoking in a Parisian S&M club. He even gave us a catfight during the show for some fun French drama. Gaultier Fall 09 was all about the letter "X". X-rated. X-posed. X-citing! I loved it! The "X" was represented on fishnet stockings, fishnet bodysuits, on chic clutches and on fishnet masks which I thought were divine! And in sheer "X's" smartly placed on everything. It was all about black and nude and a brown(nude for black people I guess.) There were sexy feminine dresses of every length as well as masculine but precisely cut suits worn with Doc Martens and of course, unconventional furs. And we know that NO ONE does a trench the way Jean Paul Gaultier does. One just gets the feeling that a woman should wear the trench with nothing else. Except of course her cigarette.
