The fall 09 Valentino wasn't new or exciting or cutting edge to young fashionistas who fancy Rick Owens jackets and Balmain torn jeans. It was however classic Valentino. Even without Valentino! And it was GLAMOROUS. Dramatic fox fur trim. Cape coats. Sophisticated suits. Crystals everywhere. A pop of Leopard here. An emerald green fur coat there. This collection was made to be worn with estate jewels. The Arnold predicts that when all else fails in this recession, THIS collection will sell. It caters to the woman of a certain age who can afford these clothes. Recession or not. Her only problem will be...she'll look very rich.
Major complaint though. No Valentino red? W.T.F???
