Unapologetically You
“When his wife asked him to change clothes to meet the German Ambassador: If they want to see me, here I am. If they want to see my clothes, open my closet and show them my suits.”
Albert Einstein
I may be new to blogging, but I’m definitely not new to the game. Personal style is key. Whether it is the clothes you wear, your accessories, shoes, car, choice of drink, demeanor, your style will make a statement about what you bring to the table. Everyone has a “style.” Some styles are trendsetting, others are eyesores, some are conservatively commercial while others are on the verge of haute couture. Personal style is like the voice of your favorite author. It is what makes books fly off the shelves. Style is what makes people’s heads turn. It makes people wonder, “Who is that??? I want to talk to him/her…
The life you live and the style you portray is constantly under scrutiny. If you don’t believe me, ask Ms. Wintour.
With that being said, own it, live it and love it. For at the end of it all, it is you that wears that full-bodied mirror out every morning. My point is, never apologize for it. Take risks… Push the edge. If you wake up in the morning and feel like throwing on an elaborate tux like Mr. Reuben Tishkoff in Ocean’s 13, do it! (Well only if you’re going to the opening of an ultra exclusive, upscale casino, you get what I mean) Do it within reason and let your style speak for itself. Though fictional, Mr. Tishkoff is just only one of my many muses.
