I really thought he'd dress her in some crazy vintage Montana or Mugler for this but they kept it elegant and earn an A in my book.So, the annual Met Gala came and went yet again in NYC. The Met gala is no doubt one of the most important nights in all of fashion. I mean it's a Vogue endorsed event. It's THE Vogue endorsed event. While this recession had an impact this year with many designers bowing out of buying a table, the GLAMOUR was still on high. This years theme was Model as muse and the Arnold, coming up in the height of the SUPERMODEL era, knew all the big models before he knew all the big designers. And may of those big models showed up and showed out. Versace dressed Cindy, Giselle and Claudia in fact. I'd call Donatella a winner of the night for pulling that feat off in true Gianni style! Azzedine Alaia had 7 SUPERMODELS lined up to wear his dresses that made so many of them supermodels but he asked them not to wear them as his work was not represented in this years exhibit! Naomi said she wouldn't even come if she couldn't wear Alaia so she didn't. GAG! There were some hits and misses of course. A few people gave me right dress, wrong accessory and vice verse(Liya Kebebe, Nadja Auerman, Raquel Zimmerman). And a few gave me all wrong(David Lauren, Twiggy, Kirsten Dunst, MK Olsen, Allison Sarofim, Kristen McMenamy and Julien dY's, MADONNA) but they get no play on A2G. Only GLAMOUR here! Very Honorable mention: IMAN, Kate Beckinsale, Claudia Schiffer(though a fierce up do was in order with that AMAZING Versace Atelier gown which made the pages of A2G months ago.), Leighton Meester, Sasha Pivavarova
Best dressed men: Kanye West, Tom Ford and Josh Hartnett? Who knew?!
