Giver her some credit dammit
Yesterday, while on special assignment from The Dealer while his computer was on the frizz, I peeped through the latest Paris Vogue looking for a spread featuring of new school certified SUPERMODEL Daria Werbowy however, before I even got there I noticed a layout featuring SUPER SUPERMODELS, Claudia Schiffer and Eva Herzigova. Now Claudia was unquestionably, one of the highest paid, if not THE highest paid model of the late 90's supermodel era. She was never my personal favorite. She retired for a minute and then, like Linda, and Naomi, and Christy, she started taking over the big name ad campaigns. Right along with those legends then and now is the gorgeous Czech, Eva Herzigova. Now, looking at these pics from Paris Vogue, Eva stands out to me. Eva's always been unquestionably gorgeous and one of those rare models able to walk the line between high fashion and commercial. She's been a Guess girl, featured in Victoria's secret and Sports Illustrated, a favorite of Karl Lagerfeld and Valentino, she's walked for EVERY top designer doing couture and pret a porter, retired, had a baby and came back with a vengence doing ads for Louis Vuitton and walking the major runways with goirls half her age. You daw how she outclassed Anna Selezneva in that Paris Vogue spread. Eva's been modeling for 20 years and still looks AMAZING and it's about time she got her just desserts! Catch her in the latest Numero, Paris Vogue and the latest BCBG ads. Adore her.

Did You Like??? An Oldie But A Goodie
Hey Guys, Its THe SAint, and Every once an again I go back to previous collections, designers and marketing plans just to see if I've missed out on anything, or to see if I really did like a specific collection and so forth. In my travels I came across a Collection By Tim Hamilton. I swear I dont know How I could have neglected this, I mean the silhouettes, The lines, the pieces. The color pattern its self was so basic, but yet you so got the statement. Tim Hamilton aka "The King Of Black & White" Congrats. And I'll be sure to be on the look out the next time round. I promise.

YOU'RE LIVINIG IN A FANTASY!
Clearly, Donatella Versace IS living in a fantasy. She must be! Anyone who can create these magical creations definitely has a sense of whimsy. Not to mention construction! Craftsmanship! Can you imagine how many hours of work went into these creations? I can't even look at these dresses from the Versace Atelier Spring 09 collection. Donatella's all about ruffles and swirls and drama drama drama. I can so see these at some ball in Paris or on some billionaires wife in Texas or at the ballet in San Francisco; wherever they do drama. A woman would literally be the bell of the ball in these gowns and the life of any party in the shorter dresses. Donatella hasn't been doing big couture shows lately. These small presentations are for the clients. Thank you. I'd go out on a limb and say that this is one Donatella's best collections since taking the reigns at the label. I'd also say that these pics of model Georgina Stojiljkovic in these dresses are absolutely fucking stunning! Georgina was MADE for the couture. The Arnold called the Versace Atelier Spring 08 collection as the one to watch on the red carpets and this one is sure to follow. The Oscars just passed but I can't wait!

I'm gonna go ahead and say it
The Arnold is gonna go ahead and say it. Gilles Deacon is the next Alexander McQueen and DEFINITELY the biggest talent out of London for a long time. I'd do my whole review and favorites but I'm EXHAUSTED as I woke up at 7 A.M this morning and have been in constant motion, judging a citywide science fair and then shopping(VERY successfully) ever since. I only got in just 3 hours ago(It's after 2 A.M)! So, I'm going to bed and I'll post tomorrow when I'm refreshed. But remember, you read it here and from me FIRST!

I need a kick
Like any Healthy addiction, THe SAint is looking for his next Fix. I am terribly immersed in footwear. Its hard to "Kick" the habbit if you know what I mean. I have my eye on quite a few selections. One needs a different shoe for the many different experiences or situations that may occur. You never know what life will bring, but as long as you have the perfect pair of "Kicks" you'll be ready.

The Arnold's Oscars
The Arnold LOVES the Oscars! I got home late from New York, where I MISSED the Barney's sale but wound up at Saks where I found the Paul Smith sweater of my DREAMS only to learn that there was only one left in a XXL, about a half hour into the Oscars. I was GLUED to the T.V for the next few hours. I'm not a "movie person" per say but the Oscars always makes ones realize the emotion and magic that comes from movies. Plus, I felt personally invested in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button".
My thoughts on the 81st Academy Awards and of course THE FASHION: I loved the idea of 5 actors who've won the category before presenting the awards to the acting nominees this year. It was amazing and seemed so heartfelt.
How happy are you for Kate Winslett? She's one of the greatest actresses of our time and it was her time tonight. I always love her speeches. Best moment of the night when her dad whistled to let here know where he was in the crowd!
Mickey Rourke is still scary but he didn't look all that bad in his suit tonight. And his pinky ring was everything!
Meryl Streep looked good in her Alberta Feretti!
I think halfway through the show we all knew Slumdog Millionaire was gonna take best picture.( Though I rooted for "Benjamin Button" till the end.)
And how cute were those adorable young actors from Mumbai when they did win?
The final vignette featuring all the best picture nominees was AMAZING!
Now, The Saint had it right with Marissa Tomei(WHO TOLD YOU, MARISSA?) and Natalie Portman and even Taraji P. Henson but lets not forget The Arnold's other best dressed picks.
Who told Freida Pinto in that blue John Galliano? She took a risk and while some didn't like it, The Arnold did. It was a lil nod to Bollywood, no? She's the one to watch. Mark. My. Words.
Penelope Cruz looked great in her vintage Balmain. And sorry Dealer, I liked the bang! LOL
Evan Rachel wood looked beautiful in her Elie Saab gown which I'm pretty sure was the same Elie Saab gown Angelina wore, though Rachel's was off the runway. Angelina had hers specially done in black.
Do we need to dwell on Halle Berry looking amazing in Marchesa? I mean it's Halle. It's Marchesa. You knew it was gonna be that good.
Little Vanessa Hudgens looked like a grownup in her Marchesa gown! Her and that dreamboat Zac Efron(in Dolce & Gabbana) were the second best dressed couple of the night.
Best dressed couple of the night of course was the reigning King and Queen of Hollywood: Brangelina. I mean really, both were nominated for their respective lead roles and they looked WONDERFUL. Angelina wore black Elie Saab and Brad wore a Tom Ford tux BUT who told them about the jewels? Angelina's Emerald Lorraine Schwartz earrings and ring and Brad's diamond buttons and David Yurman titanium and black pave diamond ring caught may attention right off. I was in love.
Final verdict. Best dressed woman: Penelope Cruz Best dressed man: Brad Pitt(The ring and him being Benjamin Button and my pick for best actor put him at an advantage over Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron and Daniel Craig)
There of course, were unfortunate misshaps too. Beyonce, Heidi Klum, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Jennifer Aniston's hair, Jessica Biel's dress and shoes(loved the hair and makeup though)Alicia Keys wig...but we won't dwell. We'll just go to the movies.
Stay Golden,
The Arnold
Oscar Night: I'm Impressed
Natalie Portman in Rodarte
Marissa Tomei in Versace
Brad Pitt in Tom Ford & Angelina Jolie in Elie Saab
Taraji P. Henson in Roberto Cavalli
John Legend in Prada
Josh Brolin & Diane Lane in Dolce & Gabbana
Dominic Cooper in Burberry
Marlon Cotillard in Dior
Amy Adams in Carolina Herrera and Jewels by Fred Leighton
I was very happy with what I saw on the red carpet this year. Though I didn't love everything, besides a few people, I was either really impressed or I didn't think what some were wearing were all that bad. All black did very well on the red carpet this year. Great examples of this were Brad Pitt in Tom Ford and Angelina Jolie in Elie Saab. Also Josh Brolin and Diane Lane in Dolce & Gabbana. Pretty colors also hit the red carpet, you had Natalie Portman in a pink Rodarte Gown, Marissa Tomel in a silver Versace number, and Best Supporting Actress Nominee Taraji P. Henson in Roberto Cavalli. Even some of the men added a little color to their lives, like John Legend in a Grey Suit with Light Pink accents by Prada ( if you know how the SAint feels about Prada, this is a big deal). Then you had your in-betweens such as Kate Winslet, Amy Adams, Vanessa Hudgens and Jennifer Grey. Amy Adams Looked nice, and though in Carolina Herrera what made her special were the jewels around her neck by Fred Leighton. It was that old Hollywood Glam that put the women on the fence, because even if you didn't exactly like what they were wearing, they still looked dazzling because of either hair, jewels or makeup. But there is no award show without a few misses. Melissa Leo and Mickey Rourke looked absolutely Horrible. The biggest dissapointment was Mrs. Project Runway herself, Heidi Klum in an architectural gown by Roland Mouret. The SAint isn't really big on Award shows anymore, but the oscars always catch my attention being as though I am a big movie buff. Congrats to all the Nominees this year and hopefully the best man/woman wins.
