Long live McQueen
The final collection at Alexander McQueen was unreal. It was reported that the editors watched the show in silence as McQueen's assistants choked back tears. The vision for what is now McQueen's final collection was artwork of the dark ages. The dresses were made from fabric that had translated digital photographs of paintings of church angels and Bosch demons. My favorite piece of the collection was the a red dress embroidered with thousands of rustling gold disks. The collection was classic McQueen it showcased Alexander's ability to balance his superb tailoring skills and his romantic way of thought. For the small 16 look collection McQueen wanted to go back to the handcraft to which he loved so much. I thought each piece was a work of art. It saddens me that I will no longer to be able to enjoy his creativity.
