P.S. I love you
In my opinion Riccardo Tisci is not your average couturier . Yes, Tisci follows the strict guidelines that the Chambre de commerce et d'industrie de Paris define for the Couture houses for Haute Couture . But when it comes to inspiration he would rather pull ideas from a National Geographic magazine or a tribe of a people who would not even know what the words Haute Couture mean, unlike Karl Lagerfeld and John Galliano who'd take inspiration from a beautiful painting or a period time.
The essence of Tisci's 2009 Haute Couture collection was that he pushed the ideals of what is considered luxury. Tisci's idea of luxury are gold embroidered pants, black sequined long sleeved high neck gowns with black studs, an ivory patent leather corset with a veil and an ivory tiara to complete the look. Jackets with the trademark gold studs that Tisci favors and uses for his women's and men's collections. I loved the collection! It was surely the standout collection of Couture week to me. The hair and makeup was also a huge smash hit. The girls with bleached blond eyebrows. Jewels covering the majority of their faces, Ivory armlets climbing the models arm. Ivory rings on every finger. Jet black hair with a simple part in the middle. I thought the collection was very modern for a Haute Couture.
