I just got word that the L'enfant terrible as he is known in the fashion world may be stepping down as creative directer at mega luxury brand of Hermes. It was said that the Spring 2010 show will be his last. Gaultier joined the house in 2003, after Martin Margiela stepped down as creative directer. JPG flourished at the house breathing new life into the brand , giving the house his trademark "bad boy" appeal. Not only was JPG helping on the creative end of the brand but his also invested 23 million dollars of his own money into the label in 1999. I think JPG was a perfect match with Hermes , it has not been confirmed that Gaultier will be leaving but that was also said for Olivier Theyskens at Nina Ricci. So the next question is who will take his place ? I would love to see Alber take a stab at the brand.
