Since The Arnold's is in New York attacking the Barney's sale, I went along and posted model Kemp Muhl for Elle Italia November 2008 for your pleasure.
I must say Rodarte is one of my favorite shows during New York fashion week. I just love the Mulleavy sisters and there clothes ( also keep in mind there shoes have a cult following). For fall 2009 the sisters keep basically keep the look that they are famous for. I loved all the knits they showed in the beginning. It looks like to me that the sisters are building their brand. And I know without a doubt if I see a woman wearing one of their knits I can always can ID it is a Rodarte which is smart for the ladies in my opinion. I also am smitten with all the collage looking dresses they showed towards the end. And the boots were TO DIE FOR the sisters said that they wanted boots to look like a straight jackets for the legs.
Oscar de la Renta, to me, is one of the reigning kings of fashion. Many younger "fashion" kids don't know what Oscar's about, but Oscar has a deep following with DEEP pockets. Oscar designs for LADIES. Rich, sophisticated LADIES. The name de la Renta is synonymous with uptown GLAMOUR and elegance and with this collection he delivered. He used divine furs as accents, and even though we don't love the idea of fur, The Arnold LOVES skunk! Mr. de la Renta also gave gave you wool suits perfect for lunching at Swify's on cool days, cocktail dresses for evening, and sleek, sophisticated animal print gowns and crinoline ball gowns for those big event nights. All with a severe up do. The collection was Park Avenue perfect!
IT'S STILL FASHION WEEK LADIES & GENTS BUT IT'S ALSO THE DEALERS BIRTHDAY THIS WEEKEND! SO LETS ALL BE LOVELY AND STOP BY AND WISH HIM A HAPPY ONE. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
